Days of Palestine – Ramallah
The Prisoners' Information Office reported Thursday that the number of coronavirus cases among Palestinian prisoners in the Negev Desert Prison has risen to 59.
This brings the number of prisoners infected with the virus since the outbreak of the epidemic to 246, including sick and elderly prisoners.
The Prisoners' Information Office indicated that the new cases of coronavirus in the Negev Prison are divided into sections 3, 4, and 10.
It indicated that with these infected, the number of HIV infections in the Negev Prison rose to 59.
The office warned that section 8 of Ramon Prison, designated for quarantining Coronavirus patients, was no longer able to accommodate new numbers of prisoners.
For its part, the Prisoners' Authority said that the prisoners of section 10, and the detainees in general, live in a great state of confusion and anxiety after the discovery of infected cases, and fears of more cases within the section.
The authority held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the lives of the prisoners, in the context of the increasing number of prisoners infected with coronavirus, especially in Raymon jail, where the number of infected cases reached 38, and the number is subject to increase.
