Days of Palestine – Jerusalem
The local planning and building committee in the Israeli occupation municipality in the occupied Jerusalem approved the expansion plan of the American embassy in the Holy City.
The newspaper "Yediot Aharonot" reported that the plan includes expanding the existing embassy yard in the "Arnona" neighborhood to an area of 50,000 square meters, and expanding the building in the "Allenby" area to an area of 60,000 square meters.
It explained that the two buildings include work offices, housing, and security offices for employees.
The embassy in Jerusalem was opened on May 14, 2018, and moved from "Tel Aviv" to the headquarters of the US Consulate in Jerusalem after the decision of US ex-president Donald Trump on December 6, 2017.
