The Palestinian Prisoner’s Club on Tuesday announced the death of the Palestinian prisoner Kamal Abu Waer in the Israeli jails..
Kamal Abu Waer was a Palestinian prisoner who is suffering from cancer has lost the ability to speak and is communicating with his fellow inmates through writing, the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees' Affairs said.
Kamal Abu Waer was diagnosed last year with a cancerous tumor in his throat and has been suffering since then from the Israeli medical negligence.
His health has worsened recently and he was suffering from severe pain in his head and neck in addition to general fatigue and has lost weight.
The statement said Abu Waer died today due the Israeli medical negligence.
It's noteworth that Abu Waer, 46, from the village of Qabatiah near Jenin in the northern West Bank, was arrested and put behind bars in 2003. He was serving six life sentences plus 50 years for taking part in the Second Intifada.
According to the group, 4,500 detainees are currently incarcerated in Israeli prisons including 700 patients, 300 of which are suffering from chronic diseases.
They added that the number of Palestinians prisoners died in Israeli jail rose to 226 prisoners.
