Israeli officials said on Thursday that Sudan has agreed to fully normalize relations with Israel, indicating that a private Israeli plane, which carried government delegation and officials from the Mossad, had landed in Khartoum in Sudan earlier today.
According to Israel Hayom, the normalization deal between Sudan and Israel is expected to be officially announced next week after a joint tripartite call between US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.
Besides normalization, this deal obliges Sudan to fully recognize the state of “Israel.”
It is obvious now that Trump’s announcement on Monday that he will be removing Sudan from the State Department’s state sponsors of terrorism list is not just about the Sudan’s acceptance to pay $335 million in compensation for ‘families of American victims of terrorism.’
Trump’s move is part of a wider agreement that is expected to include moves from Sudan toward normalizing relations with Israel.
