The Ralestine Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) building was lit last night with the Lebanese flag and the phrase "From Palestine to Lebanon, our hearts are with you," in a show of solidarity with Lebanon.
General supervisor of official media Ahmed Assad said that lighting the building in Ramallah was a message of love and solidarity with the Lebanese neighbors, and " expression of the depth of the historical brotherly relations between the two countries and the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.”
Large swaths of Beirut were destroyed on Tuesday when a massive explosionripped through the Lebanese capital. The explosion, blamed on 2,700 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored at Beirut's port, sent a shockwave across the city that shattered windows and collapsed roofs. The death toll stands at at least 135, with around 5,000 injured.
