The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas called for the rebuilding of Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus to be rebuilt as soon as possible so that residents can return, a Hamas senior offical said on Tuesday.
Raafat Morra, head of Hamas' Media Division Abroad, stressed on the importance of allowing the refugees to go back to their home from which they have been displaced.
Morra pointed out that the camp represents safety and security for them and rebuilding it is a humanitarian and social necessity.
Yarmouk is a symbol for the Palestinian presence in Syria and, indeed for all the Palestinian refugees, said the Hamas official Morra.
He also called for the United Nations Agency to carry out its duties towards those in Syria, taking into consideration the distribution of all humanitarian essentials.
