Palestinian Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology is ruminating the possibilty of adopting an alternative search engine to Google in response to the latter's removal of Palestine from its maps, said the minister Ishaq Sidr.
A global campaign was launched against Google and Ammple after they removed the name of Palestine from their online maps, with over one million users signing a petition demanding to put Palestine on their maps again.
Ishaq Sidr, minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, said that the removal of Palestine from their maps is considered an absolute bias for the Israeli occupation.
He said the ministry is preparing to take some real steps to deal with this dangerous removal of the name of Palestine.
Sidr stressed that the removal of the name of an internationally recogonized state violates the international laws.
He also pointed also the important role of the Boycott, Divestments and Sanctions (BDS) Movemen in pressuring Google and Apple.
