The Hamas Movement said it handed over 1,000 quarantine units to the competent authorities in Gaza as part of its effort to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
In a press release, Hamas said it had finished the construction of the quarantine units on Saturday two weeks after embarking on building them.
500 units were established in the northern area of Gaza and another 500 in the south, according to Hamas.
The health ministry in Gaza will use the quarantine units for the citizens who return from abroad through the Rafah border crossing in the south and the Beit Hanoun (Erez) border crossing in the north.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the Palestinian Authority territories, including Gaza, rose to 267 patients on Saturday.
