Senior Hamas officials on Wednesday met with Russian deputy foreign minister Mikhail Bogdanov in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The Hamas officials included head of the Movement’s international relations office Mousa Abu Marzouk and former political chief Khaled Mishaal, according to a statement released by the Hamas Movement on Thursday.
Bogdanov was briefed during his meeting on the latest political developments regarding the Palestinian cause and the dangers threatening it as a result of the US deal of the century.
The Hamas officials affirmed the Palestinian people’s rejection of the US deal, describing it as a plan targeting the Palestinian cause and their right to establish their independent state with full sovereignty.
In this regard, a statement released by the Russian foreign ministry said that Bogdanov discussed the issue of the Palestinian division and efforts to restore the national unity.
The Russian official also explored avenues to find a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict within the boundaries of the international law and the Arab peace imitative.
