Israeli soldiers on Sunday evening rounded up a Palestinian young man in the south of Bethlehem city in the occupied West Bank on allegations of his attempt to carry out a stabbing attack.
According to the Hebrew media, a young man was arrested near the illegal settlement of Efrat after soldiers saw him approach them while carrying a knife.
However, the soldiers did not open fire at him. They pointed their guns at him and subdued him after he dropped the knife.
In previous similar incidents, Israeli soldiers did not hesitate to shoot and kill Palestinians even when the victims were standing away and posing no threat. Some victims are believed to have been shot dead on suspicion of carrying things that looked like knives.
