President Mahmoud Abbas received on Tuesday evening a phone call from the head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniyeh.
Haniyeh expressed, during the call, Hamas movement’s standing behind the president's steadfast positions, adhering to the legitimate national constants of the Palestinian people, and rejecting the so-called deal of the century aimed at liquidating the Palestinian national project.
He stressed that the Palestinian people, in all their factions and political parties, must stand side by side in support of the positions of the President, who are steadfast and rejecting all plans to liquidate the Palestinian issue, foremost of which is the "deal of the century".
Haniyeh called for putting all differences aside and standing together in the face of the scheme to liquidate the Palestinian national project.
For his part, President Abbas appreciated the initiative of Haniyeh, stressing that the focal point of confronting and foiling the American liquidation plan is based on Palestinian national unity.
