The Israeli occupation military ordered on Thursday seven Palestinian homeowners in the village of Birin, in the south of the West Bank, to stop work on their homes under the pretext they did not have building permits, reported WAFA news agency's correspondent in Hebron.

He said that the army raided Birin and handed the seven homeowners, all from the extended Burqan clan, stop construction orders because the homes were in Area C, which is under full Israeli military rule and Palestinian development there is not allowed.

The military last week demolished the foundations of a school in the same village and for the same reason.

Birin is located in what is known as Masafer Yatta, an area of several villages Israel is trying to obliterate and displace their Palestinian inhabitants in favor of building Jewish-only settlements.

Meanwhile, the military ordered owner of a carwash located at the entrance to the town of Yatta, to remove it also under the pretext it was built without a permit.

Israel admitted this week that almost 99% of Palestinian permit applications in Area C were rejected by the Israeli military government therefore forcing residents to build without a permit.
