Days Of Palestine – West Bank
Israeli occupation forces detained 31 Palestinians, including a university professor, in multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoners’ Society (PPS).
PPS confirmed in a press release that Israeli forces detained Ahmad Qatamesh, 68, a political scientist known for his writings and lectures who was designed by Amnesty International as a prisoner of conscience, after raiding his house in Ramallah city.
PPS added that another Palestinian, identified as an undergraduate student enrolled in Birzeit University, was rounded up from the Ramallah city neighborhood of al-Irsal.
Still in Ramallah district, Israeli forces conducted a raid in Silwad town, east of Ramallah, resulting in the detention of two Palestinians.
Another Palestinian was detained in a similar raid in Beitunia city, west of Ramallah.
Meanwhile, PPS said that 15 Palestinians were rounded up from Jerusalem district.
One of the 15 Palestinians was rounded up in an overnight raid in Beit Duqqu town, northwest of Jerusalem.
The 14 others were identified as residents of the Jerusalem neighborhoods of Issawiyeh, Ras al-Amoud and al-Tur.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
According to Palestinian figures, roughly 5,700 Palestinians — including numerous women and children — are currently languishing in Israeli detention facilities.
