On Wednesday, dozens of pro-Palestinian activists took to the streets in Chicago in protest of the latest US declaration which recognized “the legitimacy” of illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Protestors chanted slogans against the US administration pro-Israel policies, calling on US President Donald Trump to reverse not only the recent declaration on settlements, but also other anti-Palestinian declarations and decisions.
Last Monday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo declared that Israeli colonies on the internationally-recognized Israeli-occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank are not inconsistent with international law, despite the fact that they totally contradict with United Nations resolutions on settlements, specifically Security Council resolution 2334 of 2016.
