Days Of Palestine – Ramallah
A group of Israeli settlers on Friday morning attacked Palestinian citizens in Burqa and Beitin villages, northeast of Ramallah, and prevented them from picking olives in their lands.
Head of Burqa's village council Adnan Barakat said that 16 Israeli settlers stormed olive groves in Burqa and Beitin, attacked Palestinian families while they were picking olives, and attempted to force them out of their lands.
The settlers were accompanied by armed forces who fired tear gas canisters at the Palestinian farmers. At least four of them choked on tear gas and were transferred to the hospital for treatment.
Since the olive season started in the West Bank, Israeli settlers have launched dozens of planned attacks on the Palestinian farmers, assaulting them, preventing them from harvesting olives, stealing their crops, or burning their trees.
