Israeli occupation forces rounded up more than 17,000 Palestinian women, including minors and elderly, since 1967.
The Palestinian prisoners authority said in a report a couple of days ago that 3,000 women were arrested by the IOF in the first intifada that erupted in 1987.
In the second intifada in 2000 that was known as the Aqsa intifada, the IOF detained 1,000 Palestinian women, the report went on.

The number of those arrested witnessed ups and downs up until 2019 that saw an upsurge in the detention of Palestinian women especially those in Occupied Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque in particular.
There are currently around 40 women in the Israeli jail of Damon half of whom are mothers and six suffering from bullet wounds sustained during their arrest, the report said, adding that they complain of medical neglect and worsening incarceration conditions.
