The Israeli occupation police at dawn Friday launched a widespread arrest campaign against Palestinian citizens in Jerusalem after activists called for massive participation in the Friday prayers at the Aqsa Mosque and its Bab al-Rahma prayer area.
According to local sources, Israeli police forces raided several homes in the neighborhoods of Jerusalem and kidnapped many young men. Some of them were identified as Obada Najeeb, Mahmoud Najeeb and Waheed al-Bakri.
During the last few days, prominent Jerusalemite figures and activists launched efforts to urge Palestinian citizens to march en masse to the Aqsa Mosque to confront the Israeli arbitrary measures at the holy site and to express rejection of the banishment orders issued by the police in the holy city against Islamic Awqaf officials and employees.
