The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Sunday night closed the military checkpoint of Abul-Rish near the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil city and barred local residents from going home.
According to eyewitnesses, the IOF closed the checkpoint, prevented Palestinian citizens from reaching their homes in the vicinity of the Ibrahimi Mosque and intensified its presence in the area.
The IOF also deployed tents on the sports fields of the Ibrahimiya School in al-Sahla area, south of the Ibrahimi Mosque.
