The Palestinian resistance group Hamas said it has been invited by a Russian think-tank to visit Moscow next month for talks.
In a press release, the member of Hamas International Relations Office Dr. Basem Naim stated that Hamas officially received an invitation to visit Moscow.
“The Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences sent invitations to Hamas and other Palestinian factions, who had met last year with Russian officials in Moscow," Naim said.
Last week, Palestinian Ambassador in Moscow Abdel Hafiz Nofal said that a number of Palestinian groups will meet in Moscow on Feb. 11 upon an invitation from the Institute of Oriental Studies for reconciliation talks, Anadolu Agency reported.
The Hamas official pointed out that the visit is scheduled between 11th and 14th February and every faction will be represented by two officials only.
Hamas and the Palestinian factions will discuss with Russian officials many issues including Palestinian reconciliation and rearrangement of the internal Palestinian home.
Hamas Movement accepted the invitation and hoped that the visit will be an opportunity to reorganize the Palestinian home, achieve national unity, and solve contested issues.
