Israeli occupation authorities have detained and prevented Palestinian-US writer Susan abul-Hawa from reaching occupied Palestinian West Bank to attend literary festival.
The Palestinian writer of the international bestseller ‘Mornings in Jenin’ was detained while en route to Kalimat Palestinian Literature Festival in organised in the occupied West Bank.
Several international bodies, in the British Council and the Kenyon Institute are sponsoring the literary festival.
Israeli occupation authorities claimed that Abul-Hawa was detained and denied entry to Israel and the West Bank because she had violated the Israeli orders.
According the Israeli media, Abul-Hawa was was barred from entering in 2015 and she was told that every future entry would have to be arranged in advance.
