Palestinian was killed and two others were wounded on Wednesday night in an Israeli tank shell attack at a group of youth in southern Gaza city of Rafah.
The Palestinian ministry of health named the martyr as Sha’ban abu-Athreh, 18, noting he celebrated his birthday with his friends just one week ago.
Eyewitnesses said that the group of the Palestinian youths, who were targeted, were playing football in a corner of Al-Nahda Neighbourhood of Rafah.
According to the eyewitnesses, the Israeli occupation forces fired several tanks shells at the Palestinian youths and only one of them hit the playground.
Regarding the two wounded youths, the Health Ministry Spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra described their wounds as moderate to serious.
Spokesperson of the Israeli occupation army said that the Israeli forces opened fire at a group of Palestinians while approaching the borders with Israel.
However, eyewitnesses reiterated that they were playing football when they were attacked.
