An Israeli Jewish settler ran over an elderly Palestinian woman in the north of the occupied West Bank on Monday evening.
Eyewitnesses said that an Israeli vehicle led by an illegal Israeli Jewish settler near the Palestinian village of Zaatara approached the old lady and hit her “intentionally.”
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank, identified the lady as Hilweh abu-Ras, 70.
He said that she was evacuated to Al-Najah hospital in Nablus, where doctors said she sustained moderate to serious wounds.
The settler fled the scene in the direction of an illegal Israeli military checkpoint near Zaatara.
An Israeli army spokesperson said that they were aware of the incident, but of course they took no action against the illegal settler.
Such incidents happen repeatedly because the perpetrators go unpunished.
