The Palestinian was identified as Shorouq Dwayyat and the Israel District Court in Jerusalem claimed she was found guilty attempting to stab an Israeli soldier in Jerusalem’s Old City.
At the same time, the Israeli occupation court ordered the Palestinian girl to pay a fine of NIS80,000 ($20,000).
Israeli media claimed that Dwayyat wrote on her Facebook that she wanted to become a martyr before she was arrested by the Israeli occupation forces.
The Times of Israel said that the girl left her house after writing on her Facebook page that she hoped to pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque before going to her classes at Bethlehem University.
On October 7, 2015, Dwayyat was walking towards Al-Aqsa Mosque and inside the entrance of the Old City, she was shot and evacuated to the Israeli Hospital of Hadassah Ein Kerem with critical wounds.
After her recovery, the Israeli occupation authorities sent her to prison and then took her to the court which sentenced her to 16 years.
