Israeli District Court in occupied Jerusalem advised on Sunday sentencing Palestinian child Ahmed Mansara to 12 years in prison for allegedly wounding Israeli in October.
The Israeli prosecution said that Manasra, from East Jerusalem, was found guilty in May of carrying out a stabbing attack on October12, 2015 in the illegal settlement of Pisgat Zeev in East Jerusalem.
Manasra’s cousin, 15-year-old Hassan Manasra, was shot dead at the scene of the attack. His body was withheld by Israeli authorities for seven months, finally returned to his family for burial in May.
Ahmed Manasra, the uncle of the boy in prison, said that the Israeli prosecution had recommended that the judges sentence his nephew to 12 years in prison not including the year he has already spent in detention.
He also said that the prosecution advised to move Ahmed from a juvenile detention facility to an adult prison.
Meanwhile, the Israeli prosecutor requested that Manasra’s family to pay 480,000 shekels ($127,339.50) in compensation to the two Israelis who were allegedly injured by Ahmed and his murdered cousin.
It is worth mentioning that Ahmed was beaten, maltreated and did not receive proper medical treatment after he was wounded by the Israeli occupation police.
