Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip -Around 75,000 Palestinian citizens in Gaza Strip are still displaced after 2014’s major Israeli offensive on the coastal enclave, UN official said on Monday.
UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Aid and Development Activities Robert Piper said that 3,000 homes were rebuilt, but there is a “very big gap” between the needs and the affordable donations.

“After listening to around 16,000 diplaced families in Gaza,” Piper said, “we found that they are still living very difficult conditions without homes.”
He stressed on the “urgent need” for international support and donation to accelerate the reconstruction of these families’ houses to help them resettle as soon as possible.
“The suffering of these families [displaced families] will not end without this support and donations,” Piper said, noting that the Israeli siege had to be lifted and an internal Palestinian reconciliation should be achieved.
