Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip –Israeli occupation forces opened fire on Saturday morning on farmers near Al-Bureij Refugee Camp, in central Gaza Strip.
Witnesses said that the Israeli forces stationed in watchtowers near the Gaza-Israeli border opened fire on the farmers who had arrived to work in their farms.
Farmers said no one was wounded and Palestinian medical sources in Gaza also said that no casualties were reported.
Farmers whose land lies within or close to an Israeli-enforced buffer zone along the border face nearly daily fire or threat of fire from the Israeli forces, often preventing them from cultivating their crops, rights groups say.
Israeli authorities have maintained the buffer zone since 2005, although its exact limits have historically fluctuated and often remained ambiguous.
Approximately 35 percent of Palestinian agricultural lands in Gaza are inaccessible without high personal risk, according to the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights.
