In a statement, the committee of Palestinian farmers in Al-Khalil said that the Israeli Jewish settlers descended from the illegal Israeli settlement of Ein Hadasa and arrived in Tel Al-Remeeda neighbourhood in Al-Khalil.

“They carried out different kind of aggression against the Palestinian farms and uprooted 100 olive trees,” the statement said.

The committee condemned the aggression of the Israeli Jewish settlers on the Palestinian farms and properties, calling for reforming the lands and planting new trees.

Such incidents are always carried out by the Israeli Jewish settlers without an official Israeli crackdown on the settlers.

Since 1967, approximately 800,000 olive trees have been uprooted in the occupied West Bank, according to a joint report by the Palestinian Authority and the Applied Research Institute in Jerusalem.

The olive industry supports the livelihoods of roughly 80,000 families in the occupied West Bank. Currently, it is the season of olive harvest and the aggressive acts of the Israeli settlers cause much economic damage for the Palestinian farmers.
