Occupation to uproot 2,000 trees in West Bank

Days of Palestine, West Bank –Israeli occupation forces is planning to uproot 2,000 fruitful Palestinian trees in the West Bank city of Salfeet.

Palestinian farmers in Haris neighbourhood, north of Salfeet, said that the Israeli occupation sent them orders telling them about uprooting the trees.

Activist and researcher from Salfeet Khalid Ma’ali said that the farms targeted by the Israeli “aggression” called Ebreeze Palace and is owned by the Palestinian citizen Daud abu-Amin.

Ma’ali said that the orders included information about the intended plan to uproot the trees.

“The land [where the trees are planted] was confiscated by the Israeli authorities and it is used for military purposes,” the orders said according to Ma’ali.

He also said that the area consists of tens of dunams and olive, citrus and other kinds of trees were planted more than 15 years ago.

Israeli occupation forces and settlers always uproot Palestinian trees to force them out of their lands.
