Days of Palestine, Rahat–Israeli occupation police killed on Sunday night Palestinian man, wounded 20 others after funeral of Beduin killed last week.
After the funeral of a Palestinian killed last week by the Israeli occupation forces, the Israeli police shot tear gas and live bullets at the angry Palestinians who stoned them back.
In the same incident, another Palestinian was badly hurt and at least 22 others were lightly wounded.
The clashes began after a police truck arrived at a funeral in Rahat for a local man shot to death during clashes with police last Wednesday night.
According to the Israeli police, the truck came under a barrage of rocks and was attacked repeatedly, and they were forced to use crowd dispersal means in order to flee the scene.
The death of the Palestinian came after a one-day general strike held in Beduin towns and villages in the occupied Negev (south of Israel) to protest the death of 21-year-old Sami al-Ajar, who was killed last week –Wednesday.
Khalil al-Amur, a Palestinian living in Negev, said the prevailing feeling among Israeli occupation army and police is that “the blood of an Arab is not worth as much.”
Al-Amur said that the consensus is that is Al-Ajar could have been arrested if he was proved guilty. The police could have arrested him without using deadly force.
He said the one-day general strike called in the Beduin sector was part of “a day of mourning for a youth whose life was taken in a moment for no reason.
