Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip –Gaza is facing a serious crisis of cooking gas due to the very small amount allowed by Israeli occupation, a local union official said.
Mahmoud al-Shawwa said that in the past ten days only 40 tons of cooking gas have entered Gaza, despite daily needs of over 300 tons for the population of 1.7 million Palestinians.
Most filling stations are closed due to the shortages.
In the days since the start of the ongoing cold wave, scores of families in Gaza have been evacuated from their homes due to flooding and lack of warming facilities.
Four Gazans, including three infants froze to death during the wave. Two of the families of the three infants had been living in makeshift houses before they were flooded by rainwater.
The family of the third infant has been living in a house which lack warming system.
