Days of Palestine, West Bank -Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces have arrested more than 30 Palestinians in West Bank in bid to abort new Intifada.
Senior PA security source affirmed to Days of Palestine the news about the wide range of arrests carried out by security forces against Palestinians criticizes.
According to the senior source, all the arrests were ordered by the PA President Mahmoud Abbas and approved by his PM Rami Hamadallha. The source reiterated that the arrests have been always made in favour of the Israeli occupation.
The pro-Israeli wave of arrest mainly focused in Al-Khalil, where some 20 Palestinians were arrested, most of them Hamas operatives. Additional arrests were made in Nablus and Ramallah.
Under the pretext of planning to carry out hostile attacks, the source said, the PA security sources arrest the Palestinians.
The source stressed that the arrests are part of the PA’s larger goal to restore calm in the area, and were done “to prevent bloodshed and violence.”
Two weeks ago, the number of Palestinians arrested by the PA security forces in the occupied West Bank reached around 300. Most of them were Hamas members or supporters.
