Days of Palestine, Reports –Israeli authorities decided Wednesday not to cooperate with the UN inquiry team aiming to probe Israeli war crimes in Gaza Strip.
The United Nations team appointed by the Human Rights Council to investigate possible war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation during the recent war on the Gaza Strip.
Israeli news website Ynetnews reported the news and the Israeli TV Channel Two affirmed it and said that the Israeli authorities denied the team entry to the Gaza Strip or the West Bank.
The inquiry committee is referred to by the name of the head investigator Professor William Schabas, who arrived in Amman, according to Ynetnews, before asking permission to enter ‘Israel.’
Ynetnews said that the Israeli authorities refused their request and the decision led to an announcement that ‘Israel’ would not cooperate with the commission.
The Schabas commission was appointed by the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva to investigate alleged war crimes committed by ‘Israel’ and Hamas during the recent 51-day Israeli war on Gaza, which claimed the lives of more than 2,260 Palestinians and wounded more than 11,000.
