Days of Palestine, New York –US State Department slammed on Friday speech of the Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas in the UN General Assembly.
In his speech before the 69th session of the UNGA, Abbas accused the Israeli occupation of carrying out “genocide” against the Palestinians.
State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki called the speech “offensive” and “provocative.

” She added: “President Abbas’ speech today included offensive characterisations that were deeply disappointing and which we reject.”
She continued: “Such provocative statements are counterproductive and undermine efforts to create a positive atmosphere and restore trust between the parties.”
In his speech, Abbas demanded an end to the Israeli occupation, accused the Israelis of waging a “war of genocide” in Gaza and asserted that Palestinians faced a future in a “most abhorrent form of apartheid” under Israeli rule.
Earlier, Israeli leaders reacted with anger and scorn to Abbas’s address, with one official from the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office accusing the PA president of incitement.

After all of this, an important question arises: What does the US call the massacres of families and civilians in the Gaza Strip, putting the coastal enclave under heavy bombardment for 51 continuous days, putting more than 6,000 Palestinians in prisons, dividing the occupied West Bank into small ghettos and retaining building of illegal settlements?
