Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip – In a first sign to violate the truce with the Palestinians, Israeli warships fired on Tuesday live bullets at fishermen in the Mediterranean.
Palestinian fishermen said that the Israeli warships used machine guns to fire at their boats while they were sailing within the agreed-upon six-nautical-mile limit near Rafah.

No injuries were reported.
Justifying their act, spokeswoman of the Israeli occupation army said that fishermen “deviated from the designated fishing zone,” and that navy soldiers fired warning shots into the air.
Asked how far the fishermen were sailing from shore, the spokeswoman said she did not know the exact distance, but that it was further than six nautical miles from shore.
However, the Palestinian fishermen stressed that they did not exceed the six-mile limit as agreed in the ceasefire agreement reached last Tuesday.
