Days of Palestine, Gaza –A South African (SA) medical team arrived on Sunday in Gaza to assist in the treatment of thousands of Palestinians injured in Israeli war on the Strip.
In a news conference at Al-Shifa hospital, the director of the Gift of the Givers Foundation said the team consisted of ten doctors with various specialisations.
“The team will spend two weeks in Gaza,” one of the doctors said.
He added that the World Health Organisation had sent medical supplies, which were currently en-route to the Strip via Egypt.
Approximately 11,000 Palestinians were injured in the Israeli seven-week war on Gaza, according to official statistics of the Palestinian ministry of health.
