Days of Palestine, California –Thousands of pro-Palestinian activists streamed on Saturday towards the port of Oakland in California and blocked an Israeli ship to dock there.
The activists chanted pro-Palestinians and anti-Israelis and waved Palestinian flags.
For the Israeli ship, it was scheduled to dock at remained at sea as between. The protesters intended to form a picket line to prevent work crews from unloading the ship.
Activists said that the action is part of the BDS movement and plans to protest at ports in Oakland, California, Seattle and Vancouver.
The protests will try to close the ports in the aforementioned cities to the Israeli cargo ship and prevent Israeli goods from being unloaded on the West Coast of North America.
Garrick Ruiz with Boycott, Divest and Sanction Los Angeles says Israel should not be making profits while bombing the people of Gaza.
Ruiz says they want truck drivers to leave Israeli goods on the docks.
