Days of Palestine, Gaza –Palestinian healthcare official said on Friday that Israeli occupation is “deliberately” targeting healthcare sector in Gaza.
“Healthcare facilities became under heavy Zionist’s fire in several areas in the Gaza Strip,” Spokesman of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza Dr Ashraf al-Qidra. “Abu-Yousif Al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah is the last example.”
This hospital is the main in Rafah and it serves more than 350,000 Gazans in the city. “Its staff was obliged to evacuate dead and wounded and then to leave under heavy Israeli fire on Friday,” Al-Qidra tweeted.
Al-Qidra described the Israeli acts as “war crimes” and “violations of the international law and Fourth Geneva Convention” that urgently needed a prosecution.

Another example, Al-Qidra mentioned, was Beit Hanoun Hospital in the north of the Gaza Strip. “It is the only hospital there that serves around 40,000 Gazans,” he said.
He counted other hospitals, including Mohamed Al-Dorrah Hospital in the north-eastern side of the Gaza city, which was closed after heavy Israeli shelling that harmed many of its facilites.
“We, in the ministry of health, condemn these racist acts, which complicate the healthcare system and consider them as part of the aggressive Israeli war on Gaza,” he said.
“International human rights organisation are demanded to review their positions and practice their moral role in protecting healthcare institutions in the Gaza Strip,” he added.
