Days of Palestine – Ramallah
The Israeli occupation forces Today, Monday, arrested seven citizens, from Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate.
Local sources said that the Israeli occupation forces stormed the cities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, the neighborhoods of Umm Al-Sharait, Ain Munjid, the towns of Beit Liqya, and Beituniya, and the villages of Beit Ur Al-Tahta and Ain Qinya.
The same sources added that the detainees are: the two ex-prisoners, Hassan Youssef, Sami Metwally, Nour Al-Qadi, Bara’a Mafarja (23 years), Moaz Jabr Asi (23 years), and Waheed Dar Musa (36 years).
Local sources indicated that the Israeli occupation forces arrested the young man, Fadi Abdel Dayem Karakra, from the city of Al-Bireh, while he was returning to the homeland, across the Jordanian border.
Recently, Right groups reported that 4,550 Palestinians are still held in Israeli prisons so far, including 32 women, 170 minors, and 500 people held under Israel’s administrative detention policy.
The Israeli occupation uses this measure as a matter of routine. Over the years, it has held thousands of Palestinians in administrative detention for extended periods, some lasting years.
Formally, Israeli judges review the administrative detention orders and the detainees may appeal to the occupation Supreme Court. Yet this is merely a semblance of judicial overview and, barring highly exceptional cases, judges approve the vast majority of orders.
