Days of Palestine – Beirut

Four young men were shot dead and at least four others were wounded, some of them in critical condition, in a shooting that was carried out by gunmen from the Fatah movement directly at the funeral of the young martyr Hamza Ibrahim Shaheen, who died as a result of an accident in the Burj al-Shamali camp in Lebanon the day before yesterday.

Press Agencies confirmed that members of the Fatah movement opened fire on the funeral and that the martyrs were: Muhammad Taha and Muhammad al-Sayyid from Ain al-Hilweh, and Omar al-Sahli and Hussein Ahmed.

The funeral was presented by cadres and elements of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas”, led by leaders in the movement, Izzat al-Rishq, Zaher Jabarin, and Hussam Badran.

The solemn funeral witnessed a wide political and scholarly presence from the Palestinian factions, Lebanese parties, and Islamic forces, and a large delegation from Hezbollah and the Amal movement, in the presence of the Mufti of the region, Sheikh Medrar Al-Habbal, a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP Hassan Ezz El-Din, and the political official of the Islamic Group in the south, Dr. Bassam Hammoud.

The people gathered in the sides of the funeral procession and on the roofs of the houses surrounding the path along which the funeral took place, and they threw rice on the body of the martyr and on the crowds of mourners, in honor of the martyr’s spirit.

In the details, eyewitnesses reported that “suddenly, when the funeral procession arrived at the camp cemetery, members of the Fatah movement began shooting directly at the funeral procession of the martyr and the participants in the funeral.”

They pointed out that the shooting was carried out using automatic weapons during the presence of a very large crowd of men and women who participated in the funeral.

It is noteworthy that an agreement was reached last night between the Palestinian factions to witness the funeral of a national consensus, with the participation of all the factions, national and Islamic forces in coordination with the official Lebanese authorities, and that the Palestinian ambassador, Ashraf Dabour, participated in the funeral, with the exception of the Fatah leadership.
