Days of Palestine – Hebron
Dozens of Palestinian citizens, mainly school students, today, Tuesday suffered from suffocation during clashes with Israeli occupation forces near the Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied southern West Bank city of Hebron, according to local sources.
They said that clashes erupted with Israeli soldiers at an army-manned checkpoint south of the old town of Hebron, west of the Ibrahimi Mosque, during which the soldiers fired tear gas and sound bombs at the Palestinians causing dozens of suffocation cases due to inhaling the gas.
The old town of Hebron, which is under Israeli military and settlers’ control, is surrounded by checkpoints that bar any non-resident Palestinian from entering it. Its Palestinian residents are subjected to daily harassment from the settlers, who are backed by the soldiers.
