DaysofPal– The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that Israeli settler attacks across the West Bank have displaced roughly 100 Palestinian families over the past two weeks.
According to OCHA, ongoing settler violence, including threats, intimidation, and direct assaults, has forced families from five communities to abandon their homes, with the Bedouin community of Ras Ein al-Auja, east of Jericho, most heavily affected.
On January 19, 77 families, totaling 375 individuals, including 186 children and 91 women, began dismantling their homes and leaving Ras Ein al-Auja after a surge in settler attacks, particularly during nighttime hours.
This followed the forcible transfer of 21 families, comprising 110 people with 61 children, on January 8.
The report highlighted a range of violations, including the physical assault of an elderly man, the cutting of solar power lines, and the plowing of privately owned farmland.
OCHA noted that these attacks have disrupted residents’ access to homes, grazing lands, and water sources, further undermining their sense of safety.
The humanitarian office warned that more than 72,000 farming and herding families, almost two-thirds of all agricultural households in the West Bank, are in urgent need of immediate agricultural assistance.
