The Israeli occupation authorities consider the lands on which the Bedouin community is located in Khan al-Ahmar “state land” and claim that it was “built without a permit.”

Last September, the Israeli Supreme Court responded to the occupation government’s request to postpone the evacuation of the Palestinian village for an additional six months, following the Shin Bet’s recommendation not to evacuate the village in the light of international pressures.

The village of Khan al-Ahmar is surrounded by a number of settlements and is located within the lands targeted by the Israeli occupation to implement its settlement project called “E1”.

About 200 Palestinians registered with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) live in the village, and it includes a school serving 170 students, from several places in the area.
