DaysofPal- A group of Palestinian civilians were injured on Wednesday evening when an Israeli drone targeted them in Beit Hanoun, a town in the northern Gaza Strip, according to local sources.
The drone reportedly fired at individuals walking along a road in the eastern part of the town.
Since the ceasefire agreement took effect in Gaza on January 19, Israeli forces have committed 962 violations, resulting in the deaths of 98 civilians and injuries to 490 others.
The first phase of the ceasefire agreement officially ended last Saturday evening. Negotiations for the second phase were supposed to begin 16 days after the start of stage one but have yet to commence. Similar to the first phase, the second stage is also intended to be completed within 42 days.
Under stage two, Israel is expected to withdraw from the Gaza Strip and agree to a permanent ceasefire. In return, Palestinian resistance factions would hand over additional captives, both living and deceased, if Israel committed to advancing negotiations for the remaining stages of the agreement.
In a related development, hospitals in Gaza have received the bodies of 30 individuals who had been reported missing during the war. Gaza’s health ministry reported on Wednesday that four more Palestinians were killed in fresh Israeli attacks, while another individual succumbed to injuries sustained earlier in the conflict.
These new fatalities have increased the death toll from the ongoing war, which began on October 7, 2023, to 48,440, according to the health ministry. The number of wounded has also risen to 111,845, with 10 more civilians injured in recent Israeli attacks or by unexploded ordnance.
Recovery operations are still underway in various parts of the Gaza Strip to find and recover the remains of those who are still missing.
