The Palestinian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities condemned on Friday, September 9, the Israeli incursion into an archaeological tower in the town of Al-Burj, south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.
Earlier Friday, the Israeli occupation forces raided the site and took many pictures of the surrounding area. In addition, they conducted search operations inside it.
In a statement on Friday morning, the Palestinian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities stated that this Israeli incursion into the site was not the sole one, as Israeli occupation forces raided it several times.
The tower was raided by the Israeli occupation forces at a time when the ministry’s staff and its local and international partners were carrying out restoration operations inside it.
The statement added that this incursion comes within a systematic campaign of attacks launched by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers to ruin archaeological sites in the city of Hebron.
Several days ago, the Israeli occupation forces stormed three archaeological sites in the city of Hebron and robbed belongings from the Turkish Bath site in the old city of Hebron.
