The Israeli occupation forces suppressed, Friday, September 9, 2022 a peaceful march towards the military occupation checkpoint at the entrance to the village of Al-Jib, to the northwest of Jerusalem.
This came as an act of refusal to displace the residents of the Palestinian neighboring village of Al-Nabi Samuel.
The occupation soldiers fired tear gas at the demonstrators once they reached the checkpoint, and targeted a number of them by spraying pepper gas in their faces.
As a result, 5 civilians were injured, including the head of the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, Muayyad Shaaban, and the Palestinian activist Omar Maw’ed.
The occupation forces also restricted access to first aid to the wounded in the vicinity of the checkpoint, and forced them to evacuate the area.
Demonstrators waved the Palestinian flag, carried signs stating that the village of Nabi Samuel will resist all attempts done by the settlers to uproot its residents, and sang slogans demanding the removal of the siege that the Israeli authorities have placed on the village.
