DaysofPal: For the seventh day in a row, the Israeli occupation forces have been waging an aggressive assault on Jenin and its refugee camp, as well as ongoing clashes with resistance fighters and systematic destruction within the camp.
At the entrance to Yamoun village in Jenin province, resistance fighters engaged Israeli forces and military vehicles Monday morning, firing gunfire in their direction. The IOF detonated more resident homes in the Jenin camp, causing fresh explosions to be reported at the same time. According to local sources, there were occupation forces in several parts of the city and the camp.
In the Al-Zahra neighborhood, the IOF raided homes belonging to the Abu Hazim and Al-Daher families, converting them into military outposts and positioning snipers within them.
Israeli drones hovered over Jenin and its camp, while military bulldozers destroyed citizens’ properties to clear a path to the Al-Damij neighborhood. Bulldozers also leveled the Cinema Roundabout and its surrounding areas in central Jenin amid intense confrontations and armed clashes between the resistance and occupation forces.
The destruction extended to commercial stalls around the Cinema Roundabout, with streets being razed during ongoing confrontations. Military reinforcements were sent into Jenin, accompanied by explosions in the camp and the heavy presence of Israeli warplanes overhead.
In the Jenin camp, the IOF has persisted in destroying, demolishing, and setting homes on fire, leaving neighborhoods like Al-Damij, Al-Bashar, Abdullah Azzam, and Al-Ghabz rise in ruins. Around 20 homes have been demolished, with streets destroyed and sections of the camp divided by deliberate demolitions and fires.
This joint assault by the Israeli occupation forces and the Palestinian Authority’s security services on Jenin and its camp, ongoing since last Tuesday, has resulted in the killing of 17 Palestinians, alongside dozens injured and arrested. The situation continues to escalate, leaving widespread destruction and displacement in its wake.
