The Government Media Office said Tuesday that ‘Israel’ committed a crime against humanity in Al Mighraqa, Al Zahra, and Al Nuseirat refugee camp, leaving 520 fatalities, injuries, and missings and destroying over 13,000 residential units in one week only.
During the Israeli aggression on northern areas of Al-Nuseirate, 75 civilians were killed and 348 wounded reached hospitals within only a week. Other 100 citizens were declared missing, especially in Al Mighraqa, with no information about their whereabouts to date. In addition, the Israeli military destroyed 14 towers, residential buildings, and dozens of homes belonging to Palestinian civilians who were displaced by the Israeli army.
Footages following the withdrawal showed massive and unprecedented destruction in the area. In the video are the remains of the Al Salhi Towers in Nusseirat refugee camp, central Gaza, which were destroyed yesterday by Israeli airstrikes.
Damaged Infrastructure
The Mayor of Nusairat revealed that the latest Israeli aggression has destroyed approximately 25,000 square meters of main and secondary roads, as well as 5 squares and main intersections.
In addition, it demolished 12 water wells, about 4,000 meters of water networks, 15 water valves, and two water desalination stations.
10 electricity generators that operate to pump water into the network, and 6 solar energy systems serving municipal facilities were fully destroyed.
During a week long, the camp has witnessed the accumulation of approximately 20,000 tons of waste in the streets and around shelter centers due to fuel shortages and the destruction of several municipal vehicles, preventing municipal crews from accessing several areas in Al- Nuseirat.
The sudden attack also led to the destruction of 3,550 meters of sewage networks and 650 meters of rainwater drainage networks and two sewage stations. In addition, it caused bombing of 5 different-sized vehicles, most of which are used for waste collection, sewage complaints follow-up, and processing.
Furthermore, approximately 6,600 trees from public streets, the municipal nursery, and the main park were damaged.
The Nusairat municipality suffers from a severe shortage of diesel fuel needed to operate water wells and pump them into the network, in addition to operating sewage treatment plants, the mayor warned.
He showcased that sewage water overflows in some streets of Nusairat due to fuel shortages and the Israel’s destruction of main water and sewage lines as part of its deliberate targeting of infrastructure, as well as the malfunction of the necessary jetter mechanism for flushing and clearing sewage lines.
The Government Media Office held the US administration, the international community, and the Israeli occupation fully responsible for these crimes and their repercussions on the lives of civilian people.
Since the onset of Al-Aqsa Flood Operation, the Israeli army has murdered over 33,900 Palestinians and injured more than 76,700.
