The Palestinian health ministry on Thursday said that Youssef Shreem (29), Nidal Khazim (28), and Omar Awadin (16) were among the fatalities. The identity of the fourth victim is yet to be established.
Clashes erupted between the Israeli special forces and the resistance fighters in the city after the shooting.
The Israeli occupation forces dispatched military reinforcements to the region in order to extract the special forces.
The Israeli occupation has recently increased raids in Jenin and other parts of the northern West Bank to combat the increasing armed Palestinian resistance.
Videos captured by bystanders in Jenin seemed to demonstrate a mass of Palestinians encircling a car that was believed to contain covert Israeli forces. A separate video seemed to depict Israeli military vehicles hauling away the car.
Thursday‘s fatalities bring the total number of Palestinians who have been killed by Israeli forces since the start of 2023 to 88, as the Israeli occupation has intensified raids in the occupied West Bank in answer to a series of assaults that occurred in the spring.
Less than two days after six Palestinians were slain in a raid in Jenin, Israeli troops executed three more individuals there last week.
In January, a large–scale Israeli raid on Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank resulted in the death of nine Palestinians, one of whom was an elderly woman, making it one of the bloodiest days since the beginning of last year when Israeli raids escalated.
