Israeli settlers stormed on Friday, January 20, 2022, the Damascus Gate area in the center of occupied Jerusalem and performed provocative dances under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
Palestinian eyewitnesses reported that many Israeli settlers stormed the Damascus Gate area in the center of occupied Jerusalem. During their storming, the settlers raised the Israeli flag, and performed provocative dances among Palestinian citizens.
The witnesses indicated that Israeli occupation forces were deployed in the area to protect the settlers.
In turn, the Palestinian “Hamas” movement considered the settlers’ storming of Damascus Gate Square in the city of Jerusalem “a dangerous step and a play with fire.”
“The occupation is escalating its attacks on Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem. We are facing an unprecedented attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque by the occupation,” said Hazem Qassim, a spokesman for the Hamas movement.
It’s noteworthy that the Israeli occupation is intensifying its efforts to Judaize Jerusalem and obliterate its Arab and Islamic identity.
On a daily basis, Israeli settlers carry out incursions into the blessed Mosque and provocatively perform Talmudic rituals under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation authorities impose suffocating restrictions on the Palestinians’ entry to Al-Aqsa Mosque, regularly banning worshippers from entering the holy Mosque.
On the other hand, the Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem continue their calls to mobilize at Al-Aqsa to confront the Israeli incursions, which increased with the beginning of the Netanyahu government.
With the start of the new Israeli government, Israeli settlers, ordered by Itamar Ben-Gvir, have escalated their incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
Ben-Gvir’s recent raid in Al-Aqsa, the first carried out by an Israeli minister since 2017, triggered wide condemnation from Palestinian, Arab, and International parties and governments.
