Dozens of Israeli settlers invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards on Wednesday, 4 October 2023, and performed provocative Talmudic rituals, citing the so-called Jewish “Sukkot” as a pretext.
Local Palestinian sources reported hundreds of Israeli settlers broke into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa under the Israeli occupation forces’ protection.
Israeli settlers performed provocative Talmudic rituals, read biblical passages aloud and collectively, and conducted evocative dances in Al-Aqsa Mosque yards, sources added.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces are widely spread across the compound of the Al-Aqsa Mosque to protect the colonial settlers, prohibiting the presence of Palestinians.
Israeli forces also prevented Palestinians under the age of 40 from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform prayers. Earlier, The Union of Temple Mount Groups mobilized their colonial settler to carry out large-scale incursions into the Al-Aqsa mosque citing the “Sukkot” as a pretext.
Colonial settlers’ backed by the Israeli occupation forces repeatedly invade Muslims and holy places in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem in a flagrant violation of all international conventions and laws, guaranteeing Palestinian people’s right to worship in their sacred sites.
Israeli settlers and other non-Muslims are allowed to visit the Al-Aqsa mosque compound at certain times but are forbidden to pray or display any religious or national symbols under a long-standing agreement with the Muslim authority which administers the compound.
The site is known to Muslims as Haram al-Sharif (Noble Sanctuary) and contains the al-Aqsa (Qibli) mosque, the third holiest place in Islam.
Illegal settlers repeated violations of Muslim, as well as Christian, symbols as a deliberate attempt to Judaise the occupied Jerusalem, with the progressive expulsion of the local population; the Palestinians.
In August 2023, at least 3891 colonial Israeli settlers invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque, performed provocative Talmudic rituals in its yards, and conducted the so-called “epic prostration” at its gates.

In 2022, 56670 colonial settlers invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards and performed Talmudic provocative rituals in its squares, according to Palestinian figures.
